Born in St-Petersburg, Russia, in 1976, Iana began her Rhythmic Gymnastics training and competitive career at the age of 5 in Olympic sports school N 1 of St-Petersburg.
After competing in many national and international competitions in individual exercises for 11 years and earning the title of Master of Sport, Iana was selected to join a team for group exercises.
Having finished secondary school specialized in French studies, Iana was highly recommended to continue her studies in linguistics, but her love for sport prevailed and she entered the Academy of Physical Culture and Sport in St-Petersburg.During her first academic years Iana became Champion of Russia in group exercises in 1993(coach Inna Bistrova), shortly afterwards she retired from competitive sports and continued her career in Theatre of Sport, performing the dance and gymnastic fusion routines at various cultural and sport events, including International Championships and Goodwill Games in 1994.
Simultaneously she was working as a fitness instructor on Russian TV channel and as a choreographer for juniors in her sports school.
Iana completed her high education with Master's degree diploma in Competitive Sports coaching and rhythmic gymnastics choreography in 1999.She made additional studies about psychology and motivation in rhythmic gymnastics and wrote her thesis related to evolution of composition in rhythmic gymnastics voluntary exercises.
Her passion for dancing and traveling took her on a new adventure, when she accepted the contract with Thomson Cruises Int, and travelled for one year as a dancer and lead dancer, performing numerous shows on board of a cruise liner. She gained additional experience under guidance of then art director and now director of one of the most successful shows of Cirque du Soleil. Afterwards she was working in Italy as a choreographer and taking auditions and short contracts for modeling and TV commercials. She grew a passion for the shows involving creativity and fusion of dance, acrobatics, gymnastics and fashion, she also participated in costumes creation and stage set-ups.She continued her part time jobs in shows and modeling from 2001 in a different part of the world – Dubai, UAE, that became her home for another 10 years, many of them she fully engaged with her new and growing family: husband and two very energetic boys. From December 2011 Iana is developing Rhythmic Gymnastics in Mauritius.
